Championing Inclusion at Sydney Build 2025

On 7 and 8 May 2025, I had the privilege of attending the Sydney Build 2025 Expo as an Ambassador - an experience that was both inspiring and thought-provoking.

Throughout the event, I took the opportunity to ask a vital question:

How committed are we to diversity, and how inclusive are we of those in our community who face physical or mental challenges in navigating our built environment?

The conversations that followed were powerful. It was clear that Sydney Build is not just about construction and infrastructure - it’s about shaping a future that reflects the values of accessibility, equity, and innovation.

This year’s Expo stood out as exceptional and forward-thinking, boldly raising issues that are often overlooked in mainstream industry discussions. From inclusive design to adaptive technologies, the event showcased a genuine commitment to creating spaces that serve everyone in our community.

It was a reminder that progress in the built environment must go hand-in-hand with progress in social responsibility.
